Life in a CAR

Life in a CAR is part of a commuter's everyday work life. This site will help you make the driving less mundane and more productive, if only in the thoughts and ideas that happen while we're waiting for that light to turn green.

Life in a CAR is based in Santa Cruz County, a tourist and bedroom community located just south of the Silicon Valley. 20% of its population of approximately 250,000 commute daily over Highway 17, a freeway that runs through the Santa Cruz mountains to the Silicon Valley. For those of us who choose (or have no choice) to live by the beach or any location that makes you feel that your vehicle is your second home, welcome to life in a CAR.

Currently, the information on this site is based on a San Francisco Bay Area commute. Most of the links are location specific, but can be customized by entering a new location where specified. Life in a CAR is applicable to anyone who spends time commuting, regardless of their location.
